Darling Downs and Toowoomba Chinese Language School: Term 2 Summary

在刚刚过去的第二学期中,图文巴中文学校紧密围绕“母亲节”和“端午节”等中华传统节日,将语言教学与文化体验深度融合,开展了一系列富有成效且精彩纷呈的课堂活动。

During Term 2, our curriculum seamlessly integrated language acquisition with cultural immersion through meaningful celebrations of traditional festivals, including Mother’s Day and the Dragon Boat Festival.

班级教学集锦 | Class Summaries

💡 B班:前沿视野,云游神州 (Class B: Immersive Culture)

鉴于B班同学优秀的中文基础,本学期学校特别引进了中国华文教育基金会主办的“实景课堂”。该项目采用先进的“外景现场直播 + 内景互动教学”双师模式,打破了传统课本的局限,把中国的大好河山与文化遗产实时呈现在大洋彼岸的荧幕上。孩子们跟着国内的名师“云游”华夏,在身临其境的高清互动中不仅锻炼了听力口语,更极大地拓宽了文化视野。

Given the advanced proficiency of Class B, we introduced the prestigious “Live-Scene Classroom” project this term. Utilizing a pioneering dual-teacher model combining live on-site broadcasts with interactive studio teaching, this project brought China’s cultural heritage and scenic landmarks directly to our students’ screens. Wandering through history in real-time, the students embraced a highly engaging and enriching linguistic challenge.

📖 C班:读演结合,全面提升 (Class C: Reading & Performing)

本学期C班学生在听、说、读、写各方面都取得了长足的进步。不仅高效完成了《蔡伦造纸》的学习,还深入精读了《龟兔赛跑》和《小猫钓鱼》。

在《龟兔赛跑》一课中,孩子们通过音乐剧和角色扮演(Role-play)的方式,将兔子的骄傲与乌龟的坚持演绎得淋漓尽致。这种寓教于戏的方式不仅让孩子们在欢笑中掌握了重点词汇与常用句型,更深刻理解了“持之以恒”的道理,极大地增强了团队协作意识和用中文表达的自信心。

Class C students demonstrated remarkable progress across all four core language skills. They wrapped up the study of Cai Lun’s Papermaking and thoroughly explored The Tortoise and the Hare and The Kitten Goes Fishing.

Through musical theatre and role-play for The Tortoise and the Hare, students embodied the arrogance of the hare and the perseverance of the tortoise. This interactive approach not only helped them master key vocabulary and sentence structures naturally but also fostered their confidence and collaborative skills.

📝 E班:情境教学,学以致用 (Class E: Contextual Application)

E班本学期稳步推进《中文》第二册第六至八课的教学,重点攻克日常动词“是、有、会”及核心句型的运用。

在第六课《我会做的事》中,同学们能熟练运用“我会……;别……;可是……”来有条理地描述自己的日常能力(如:“我会收拾房间,可是我不会做饭”)。第七课《人有两件宝》则通过句型替换,让孩子们领悟了“双手会做工,大脑会思考”的寓意。第八课则采用问答式互动,引导孩子们用中文陈述句和疑问句来探讨自然奥秘。整体教学注重情境化,确保孩子们在真实语境中牢记并活用词汇。

Class E systematically progressed through Lessons 6 to 8 of Chinese Textbook 2, focusing on essential verbs (“to be”, “to have”, “can”) and daily vocabulary.

Students mastered core structures to describe their practical skills and limits, expanded sentences to appreciate the moral of “using both hands and brains,” and utilized declarative and interrogative sentences to explore natural phenomena. The emphasis remained on contextual learning, ensuring words were memorized and applied effectively in real-life scenarios.

🎨 F班:一笔一画,趣味启蒙 (Class F: Foundations & Creativity)

作为中文学习的启航班,F班本学期扎实攻克了《中文》第一册中的40个核心生字,包含“风、雨、云、雪、天、地”等笔画复杂的自然汉字。通过趣味写字练习与课前听写,孩子们打下了稳固的字形基础。

在素质拓展环节,学校创新推出了“天气与色彩”主题手工课。孩子们化身“天气预报员”,根据中文指令为图案涂色,并亲手制作了“天气大转盘”,将日常活动进行分类。动手动脑的手工活动让抽象的天气词汇变得触手可及。

As our foundation class, Class F firmly mastered 40 core Chinese characters from Book 1, tackling complex stroke orders like “wind, rain, cloud, snow, sky, earth.”

In their enrichment sessions, we introduced the innovative “Weather & Colours” theme. Students expressed their creativity through weather-inspired coloring and crafted interactive “Weather Wheels” to categorize recreational activities. These hands-on crafts beautifully bridged abstract vocabulary with tangible, practical use.

6. 校园文化活动集锦 | Campus Cultural Events

母亲节· 感恩有你(Mother’s Day)

高年级的同学们怀着感恩之心,用端正的汉字为妈妈书写了真挚的感谢信与感恩卡;低年级的小朋友们则亲手制作了精美的“女王皇冠”,用稚嫩却温暖的方式表达对妈妈无限的爱。
Senior students penned heartwarming letters and cards in Chinese to express their deep gratitude, while junior students handcrafted beautiful crowns for their mothers, bringing warmth and smiles to our school families.

端午节· 文化传情(Dragon Boat Festival)

端午佳节期间,高年级学生在聆听屈原故事后,亲手编织了寓意吉祥的五彩绳手环,在编织中体味传统之美;低年级的同学们则开展了传统折纸活动,并大声送出“端午安康”的节日祝福。

To celebrate the festival, senior students wove traditional five-color blessing bracelets after learning about Qu Yuan’s legacy. Meanwhile, junior classes engaged in themed origami crafts and learned to express the traditional greeting “Duanwu An’kang” (wishing peace and health).
